I can feel myself knotting and tensing up inside, even on this relatively lax weekend. I’m about to approach a steep incline. Things to wrap up. A thousand threads of signal to cram into my brain before cascading them back to the universe. So many things left unresolved. Edges frayed and torn.
To calm the noise I reach deep into Thought, and its crueler sister Memory. Memory reaches back and grasps me. There is one place that has waited for me. All this time. Sanctuary. In the Valley, night fires are burning, calling me by my true name. On this mountain, you will die. We have seen it.

Many years ago I attended an Internet World session on emerging cyberspace law issues, under Atty. Jovi Tañada-Yam. That kinda got me started on law and cyberspace (didn’t know back then, as I continued plodding with being a codemonkey for a couple of years more before I went to law school). The issues are far more well-defined now, but the stakes are just as high the shape of the future will be determined by the decisions we make *now*.

Would’ve really really loved to go to Software Freedom Day Philippines. Realized yesterday though that it falls smack into bar season, and I do have earlier committments to the BarOps.
*Sigh*
