The firm is processing the tax for its employees, and it’s doing it early. I got a chance to look at my income tax return, and I cringed at the amount I just gave to The Man.
I realize that I’m not really that bummed about being taxed. One of the theoretical underpinnings of the power of taxation is admirable enough: We’re all in this together, and everyone must contribute his share. Neither is my bile directed against the tax man, who is just doing his job when he cuts from my salary.
My beef is against that knot of officials who manage to launder our tax money into personal funds. We know what’s going on, and it’s not like these assholes have been smart or subtle about it. I mean – double-entries? Overprized fertilizer? Seriously?
If you cannot find it in your heart to fight for open, clean and accountable government, maybe you can find it in your heart to fight for the money. Our money. We need to give these punks a shakedown, like so:
Congress-critters:
You do remember your employer, The People, don’t you?
Does. The People. Look. Like a Bitch?
