A Pinoy Blog About Nothing

Welcome to the 7th incarnation of this weblog. It started out in September 2000 on a free hosting site mainly as a lark. I mean I coined the term ‘Click Mo Mukha Mo’ (literally means ‘Click Your Face’) more as a response to the prevailing notion of the time that click-thrus are the end all and be all of the Internet. I was with, predictably, with a dot com at the time and I wanted a venue where I can vent without worry of the page views and the ‘hits.’

Well, four years later with the odd hiatus or two, I’m still blogging. I bought the domain name because apparently some people liked it. So it stuck. I added a few of my published articles to add a bit more organized content. Later on, as I slowly drifted professionally away from the Web publishing business, I found having my own site and my own space a great way to experiment with emerging technologies. I am a media person by training and not a hard-core programmer. I’ve experimented on various mobile blogging sites and programs, dabbled in Flash authoring and currently getting my feet wet with PHP and mySQL.

So what’s it about? It’s still a weblog about nothing. In the same way Jerry Seinfeld’s show was about nothing. Sometimes I post about issues I care about. Other times I just poke fun at the ridiculous. But more often, I post things found on the web that I personally find interesting. If Seinfeld’s was discussing the minutiae of life, I’m attempting to blog about the minutiae of online life. (I said attempt. Ok?) If you can’t get the sarcasm in the posts then, tough. Or you’re just too thick-headed. Either way, it’s not my fault. No really, it isn’t.

Lately, I’ve asked (read: dragged kicking and screaming) other people to share the domain name and server space. These are friends who I feel have something to say and more importantly have that unique point of view: being Pinoy. Hopefully the site is just the beginning of other web-related projects seeking to enrich online Pinoy presence. Eheh.
