Putting the Hay in Mabuhay!

Sige Nga!

The Venerable Congress of the Republic of the Philippines has signed into law Republic Act 9211 which “bans smoking in public places, tobacco advertising and the sale of tobacco products to those below 18 years old.”

I don’t smoke nor do I intend to do so in the near future. I don’t mind my smoker friends as long as they don’t blow smoke to my face. It’s their choice to burn their lungs slowly and get addicted to nicotine. (Enough documents to prove it right?) There are however a lot of inconsiderate smokers around who wouldn’t have second thoughts to puff away in a windowless, airconditioned room.

I would love to see this implemented.

  1. If they don’t implement it, I’ll start strangling people to death those who are stupid enough to smoke while I’m riding the jeep. I swear, dammit!!

Yep, implementation is the key. Hay.

hay, buti na lang i’m trying to quit na :)

  4. Yeah…it would be meaningless if they don’t impose it and go after everyone who’d break it. Unfortunately, our country isn’t known for strict adherence to law.

Of course we can always let Eric the Wasted go after all of them.

  5. They’re already planning on putting an ammendment to that — they’re banning lighters and matches as well! Hahahahahaha!
