Freddy vs Jason
If I’m going to watch this again, I’ll just watch the last third. Lots of gore but none of the creepiness of either franchises. It was interesting how they tied
both Freddy and Jason stories though. Watch out for a sequel.

Spy Kids 3-D
Robert Rodriguez gained my respect (for what it’s worth) when he did the first Spy Kids specifically for his kids after making El Mariachi, Desperado and From Dusk til Dawn. That was brave of him. This third installment is just a fun romp. I watched it to have the 3-D glasses. Too bad the kids are growing up though. Time for a spin-off. (Once Upon A Time in Mexico this Wednesday! Wohoo!)

2 Fast 2 Furious
Didn’t picture John Singleton as someone who can direct this movie. Tons of nice cars and exciting car sequences. Aliw. And it didn’t even need someone named Vin to make it interesting.

Pirates of the Caribbean
Great effects, great production values, but it’s Johnny Depp’s movie all the way. Considering this was based on a theme park ride, it’s pretty entertaining. Savvy?

Basic
…is just a mess. John McTiernan, John Travolta, Samuel Jackson? Here’s one way to waste talents.

S.W.A.T.
Usual Hollywood slam-bang action picture. I was disappointed Samuel Jackson didn’t even do a major kick-ass sequence.

Time to hit the European, Australian and Japanese filmfests. :)
