Ole!
Hey I have an idea: Fernando Poe Jr. should just drop Loren Legarda as a running mate and replace her with MMDA chief Bayani Fernando. That’ll make it a Poe-Fernando ticket or a Fernando-Fernando ticket. Catchy right? Ayos sa recall yan!
And while we’re at it, let’s complete the farce by renaming the country to Fernando’s Hideaway.
Nyeta. Paglaruan ba kinabukasan ng bansa.

Joke sa bahay namin:
Interviewer: Sir, ano naman po ang alam niyo sa economy.
Fernando Poe: A, yang economy, mas mura yan kesa sa business class.
Wala nang Erap joke?

We know prayers take three years or so (look at Erap). Pero given the choice (GMA, Rocco, Ping), baka…
Really. Let’s look at one institution that we listen to, the Church:
1. They announced that condoms do not protect from aids.
2. They announced that erring priests will be lightly prosecuted.
3. They’re silent when it comes to Jewish/Muslim persecution
That’s ignorance, favoritism, and apathy. We already have it within the realm of influence in the Philippines.
What’s one more institution?
Hell, if Chiquito were alive, he would have made a funny senator. Would have given Loi a run for her money.
Now Noli… Hmmmm…

Was just talking to some officemates about this a while ago. It really sucks that we don’t have a choice. Seems that we can only choose the ‘least evil’. Seems also that we’ll be so screwed after the 2004 elections. Macapagal Arroyo? She had her chance but she didn’t deliver. Failed big time. Fernando Poe? What does he know about being president? “Mabait siyang tao” isn’t enough. You’ll need much more than that. Ping Lacson? Oh my goodness God forbid! Scary! Raul Roco? Least evil for me, so far.
Hay nakaka-depress.

Isn’t it sad we’re reduced to voting for the ‘Lesser Evil’? The question I’m asking for anyone’s who wants to president is: what does he or she gain from becoming president?
FPJ is reluctant to run. It seems like the opposition is pressuring him to do so. The opposition has no chance to win against GMA if they don’t resort to the showbiz factor. But what does FPJ gain in becoming president? Nothing.
The opposition wants someone who can give Malacanang to them. Someone they can manipulate like Erap.
I do not believe he has the heart for public office. If he wanted to serve the public, he could’ve done so years ago when he commanded more box-office clout and therefore able to sway more people. I don’t see that happening next year.
But if it comes down to just FPJ vs GMA in 2004, it will be a tight race. The opposition may even play the class card again: the poor vs the rich, the masa vs the elite. And it’s easy to remind us the alleged money Jose Pidal has siphoned from the government coffers, nevermind if Lacson proves them or not. Just being able to cast a shadow of doubt on GMA would be sufficient. And if the opposition succeeds in doing so, the masses will get who they will vote for. And they shall deserve its consequences.
For me, I don’t want to go to EDSA III or IV or whatever. I’ve lost count. GMA said she’s running because the country needs her. What the hell has she been doing since 2001 then? I’ll vote who my conscience tells me who should be best for the country.
Provided of course, there will be an election next year.

choosing between the lesser evil. yep, our future has been reduced to that. it’s time for us, the so-called young, intelligent, ideal GenX’rs to rise up to the challenge. this country needs fresh leaders. out with the trapos. but the question is, where are the heroes hiding?
