Not With A Bang…
…but with a whimper. Again.
No, I don’t mean the end of the Matrix franchise movies. I’m talking about the Phil. Web Awards. Looks like this year is even messier than the last. I’ve ranted about it before. I’ll say it once more: give it up guys!
Some of the nominees weren’t even properly notified. How can you do that to your guests? They are your guests of honor. Without their participation, you’ll have nothing.
Oh and among the list of nominees for the Portal of the Year is Yehey. They were of course co-presentors in the previous years and were therefore excluded. I guess this year they wisely didn’t shell out money for the event.
Why don’t they just give up? Or just scale it down to something which is more manageable or make it something worth winning. There’s no prestige in it anymore. 1996 went that way. There aren’t even major changes in the categories to reflect the very different online landscape. Geez, get with it.

wow, just posted about it myself but didn’t know there was much controversy about it. wait, as i recall, the one from a couple of years ago was pretty messy… *sigh*

I still have a headache from all that BS. I didn’t bother going. Despite the assurance that there was a reserved ticket for me. Haven’t even bothered to check if I won.
I wasn’t even the one who nominated my blog in the first place.

I left about 1/3 through the event, which was about all I could stand after my category was over. My travel category was the 9th trophy awarded, and already about 3 awardees weren’t even there.
