Scatter Brain

Tuesday morning. Uh-huh.
Thinking about:
· did you know that a group of eagles is called a convocation?
· if you spread rumors via text in Malaysia, you’ll be charged for sedition
· if they tax text messaging, you can bet your sweet bitty the telcos will pass it on to their consumers
· In India, carrying cell phones into polling precincts caused some confusion during their national elections.
· I lost that link on how a mobile phone can be used to cheat in the elections eg. for vote buying, they’ll ask you take a picture of your ballot before giving you the money…
· This article reminds me of an offer someone made to me recently - dump campaign SMS (read: spam) on unsuspecting mobile users using prepaid cards, a gsm modem and a database of mobile phone numbers. Of course I declined.
· Why there isn’t an organized effort to use cell phones to monitor the conduct of elections (not just monitoring the results I mean).
· the Autobot Bumblebee look so much cooler these days
· Japan introduces Enryu, the Rescue Dragon, a robot to sift through rubble.

  1. For the nth time, I switched mobile phone numbers. I ditched the pre-paid Globe line and got my husband’s addict mobile subscription. Now I’m having misgivings. There is more SPAM in Smart than in Globe. My kids have Smart pre-paid sim cards and the SPAM they get is even worse!

  2. Sassy, try mo sa Sun. :)

  3. Maganda ba ang coverage? Sabi kasi may areas daw na walang signal. Alam mo naman, na bundok ako… is it just bad props against Sun?

  4. Sassy, your area should be covered. Sun is aggressively building up its network. It may not be as widespread as Smart’s or Globe’s but it’s getting there. Sun after all is only 1 year old.
