RIP FPJ
Da King is dead. Long live the King.
The cynical view is to say ‘ let’s see the Opposition try to pin this on the Administration.’ The romantic view is ‘he died from a broken heart’ from not being able to serve the country as its President. But please for the sake of Mr. Poe’s family, I do hope they don’t use his death in pursuit of a political agenda.
I’ve mentioned previously about how FPJ wondered out loud how running for President would affect his legacy to his (millions?) fans. It’s a already starting to tell - instead of being remembered as ‘the Undisputed King of Philippine Cinema’ there’s always that phrase ‘the actor who lost in a presidential bid’ somewhere after his filmography.
And so, may you truly rest in peace Mr. Poe. Malas mo lang Erap.
And oh if you think about it, if he won Noli or Loren would be President now.
