Tsu-tsu-tsunami
Totally inappropriate story about the tsunami in Asia.
“Never mind if the disaster killed 114,000 68,000 60,000 26,000 people, do we have anyone…photogenic?”
***
Historical perspective: Back in August 1976, an intensity 8 earthquake hit somewhere in the Celebes Sea causing more than 10,000 casualties in the coastal communities of Mindanao, particularly Pagadian City. No supermodels were hurt during that disaster.

Catch the local news here? Well the [insert appropriate adjective here] newscaster mentioned that we were really lucky that the tsunami didn’t hit us since we were in the region. The reporter said it in all wonderment and stuff.
I don’t know if this newsperson really understood the teleprompter when it was mentioned earlier that the tsunami happened in the Indian Ocean.

Jobert, no I try not to catch Philippine TV news here. I’ve distrusted newsreaders ever since the first EDSA. I wouldn’t be surprised if they focused on a non-story about a vacationing celebrity who was shopping in Thailand and was involved in a *real* tragedy — their passports got a bit wet and they couldn’t get a cab to the airport.
