Kristong Itim the Blog

Sorry for the infrequent post over the past week. Been working on something over here.

Today being the feast day of the Black Nazarene, I thought it would be just proper to launch the Kristong Itim blog. It’s a project blog for something I’ve been working on and off over a couple of years. It’s about the weird and wonderful stuff which happens in the Philippines. Not much there in public yet but I expect to ramp up the posts and original content there. Do visit http://kristongitim.clickmomukhamo.com and say hi. If you’ve seen anything weird, strange or scary over in our islands, please do send over an email.

  1. weird? dude, that will be like an email everyday for me. but here’s one…
I was at Malate one night and there’s this club with an acoustic band, Club Indios. The stage is on the second floor veranda. Really cool since the trees from the other side of the street comes out as the background.

The owner shows me a picture taken from a cellphone of one of the bands playing. In the middle of the picture sitting and appearing to read the notes on the notestand is a grayish looking entity. Looks like a jawa without the hood.

It doesn’t look like a trick of the light, smoke or whatnot because you can distinguish the head and it’s two red eyes. If I didn’t see for it myself and that it was the place itself, I would have dismissed it.

Feels like a wood spirit though. More connected to the furniture than something…

  2. great work on this site, mark. your labors of love are very much appreciated!…including your tilapia-recipe which I can try one of these days…

  3. great project. don’t ask me for weird stuffs. i got so many of them, cause i’m weird.

here’s one. when you pray for a petition to the Black Nazarene, look at him figure changes in terms of size. If you see him bigger than the actual size, it means your petition has been granted.

if you want to solve a problem, go to the church before 5:am. and kneel near the altar.if you are lucky, an old woman is going to appear in the altar. She is not Blessed Virgin Mary. She is one of the mystics that frequent the church. She appears only to a few people.

  4. here’s a scary story…

nung binuksan ko ang gripo doon sa bahay namin sa pilipinas, may lumabas na tubig!

  5. Jobert: I thought you’ve ‘retired’ from that gig?

Junnie: Thanks! The tilapia was a happy accident :)

Hey Cat! Thanks for the tip. Have you seen the movie Santa-Santita? It’s set in Quiapo and deals with the mystics around the church…

Batjay: Mas nakakatakot kung ininom nyo. :P

  6. jesus christ! this looks cool. how do i get a password? :)

  7. hey emer! thanks! the stories are in comic-script form at this point. haven’t polished anything as a proper short story. I’ll post them as soon as they’re ready for public consumption.
