2005 is shaping up to be a year when my heroes are either retiring or ending up dead - today Johnny Carson died of emphysema at the age of 79.
For anyone who had FEN-P back in the 80s and 90s Manila, Carson was the odd comedian who didn't look funny to be funny. Although most of his topics where foreign to me back then, some of his jokes ...

Apologies if I go on a geeky rant during this post. No spoilers until I indicate it so.

Whether it's pure serendipity or not, I came across this article today in Salon...
Our three friends

Then again apart from blogs, I see very few Pinoy websites using RSS. Haven't seen a major daily offer its content via RSS. Let the commodification of information continue.

If you're old enough to remember sniglets, then this one is for you. Not to be confused with swardspeak which is a whole different class on its own.
This post from Expectorants got me thinking (hard thing to do for me...think, that is). There should be more words in the Filipino language. Evolution is the only way it would gain acceptance. If you don't use it, it becomes ...

From Svetlana to Lana
While I was interviewing Lana Asanin, 26, for this article, a fellow walks up to her and chats her up. To tell you the truth I’d been uneasy because of the stares and whispers occurring all around us. Obviously, their either recognize Lana or are simply admiring this statuesque beauty clad in simple jeans and a tank top. They swear they’ve seen her before but ...
