Checked online for any bulletin or advisory. Found nothing. Nothing on the LRT site either. Here’s a first hand account though — it happened to this guy.
Welcome to the Bong and Edu show. They’re confiscating CDs and DVDs and anything remotely looking like a CD or DVD if you try to go on the MRT/LRT.
Pakialam nila. Kasi ang utos eh kunin yung mukhang VCD at DVD ika nga “irregardless” (sic). To combat crime. To stem the tide of piracy. Pwe. Hinde.
Parang yung VAT issue yan eh.
Parang nung isang kapaskuhan.

Just to spite them, magdala ka ng maraming blank CD’s.

the problem is that our government is too infested with showbiz personalities such that the importance of the movie industry is grossly overvalued. This reminds me of the past suggestion to license and regulate the sale of blank CDs. Is the government really so thoughtless as to handicap all the small and medium IT and IT-related companies just to please a handful of actors and movie producers who don’t even pay their taxes properly?
