RadYo! Mukha Mo Friday
Irish / British Invasion
Last Thursday was St. Patrick’s Day so I thought why not an all Irish playlist? Unfortunately - not the fault of the Irish - but I didn’t have enough Irish musicians I liked enough in the playlist (I’m missing my Chieftains CDs). And so it might not be totally politic to do so but I’ve included the British contingent as well.
Well okay…I just wanted to squeeze in the Stones in there somewhere.
1. The Beatles - Twist & Shout
2. Rolling Stones - Satisfaction
3. Rolling Stones - Sympathy for the Devil
4. Jimmy Page and the Black Crowes - Celebration Day
5. Blur - Song 2
6. Chumbawamba - Tubthumping
7. Dexy’s Midnight Runners - Come on Eileen
8. Suede - Beautiful Ones
9. The Cure - Hello I Love You
10. The Police - De Do Do Do, De Da Da Da
11. Queen - Under Pressure
12. Tears for Fears - Shout
13. The Commitments - Mustang Sally
14. Massive Attck - Safe from Harm
15. Sneaker Pimps - Six Underground
16. The Verve - Bitter Sweet Symphony
17. Annie Lennox - No More I Love You’s
18. Cranberries - Linger
19. U2 - With or Without You
20. The Beatles - Hey Jude

we saw the stones perform “Sympathy for the Devil” during their concert here in singapore (complete with jagger’s magician’s costume) - it was the highlight of the evening and major goose pimple time.
galing ng pagkagamit nito sa movie ni denzel na “fallen”. remember that? and then they used the stones song “time on my side” to show how the spirit moved from person to person - spooky!

Batjay, is sa mga artists na gusto ko makita live yung Stones. Bilib pa rin ako sa music nila. Astig siguro yung Jagger prancing about in full stage regalia. If anything, they know a thing or two about showmanship. Narinig mo ba yung cover ng Guns’N Roses ng Sympathy for the Devil? Pwede na rin.
Resty, closet Boyzone fan ako kahit di ko inaamin. hehe.
