A Pinoy Blog About Nothing

I'm not annoying. You're just too sensitive.

    * Holy Smokes, St. Peter! It’s said Mel Gibson would do a movie about Pope John Paul II. Would that be based on Popeman? Well, he did have that Popemobile. Meanwhile, back at the Hall of Justice Papal Conclave: 1, 2 (via)

    * Orlandomomukhamo. Petite’s got the low-down on our Orlando trip. Our impression at Disney World was that a lot of people it seemed were pressured to have fun. While we were waiting for the monorail to come back online, I heard a guy behind me who was all upset say at the guards posted at the entrance: “This is the most disappointing day of my life. Ever.” Must be one hell of a wonderful life to get upset over a F@#$%*} delay with the monorail. Oh and someone should outlaw using the word EVER after a complete sentence. It’s like the verbal equivalent to three exclamation points. It’s the most annoying thing. Ever!!!

And incidentally, here are pictures of some very sad and angry people at the Happiest Place on EarthTM. (via)

    * Blazin’. Hot (ahem) on the heels of successful comic-to-movie adaptations is Ghost Rider the Movie, which stars Nicholas “Oh My God! I’m Finally Playing a Comic Book Hero!” Cage. And here’s a preview of Johnny Blaze’s movie bike.

    * Darna-na-na-na-naman. Budj, GIGO and Jessel weigh in on the latest jailbait incarnation of Darna. The first impression: not very impressive. Tsk.

I have to admit Angel Locsin looks hot in the Darna costume, unlike say…oooh…Nanette Medved? Seems like she’s only one wardrobe malfunction away from being the latest Pinoy sex scandal. I love the part where she had to go to the MTRCB in full costume. For what, you ask? To seek approval for her costume. What next? Jericho Rosales in Speedos for Panday?

    * Hmmmm candy. I didn’t know the M&M candies got a Dark Side. I want a Storm Trooper! In your mouth they’ll melt they will.

    * Creating Creativity. Picked up the Scientific American Mind magazine and I was just fascinated by the articles. The main article discusses how researchers are trying to pinpoint where exactly in our brains does creativity come from.

Some points in creating a creative mind-set, according to the article:

    1. Wonderment (have a childlike curiosity to the world),
    2. Motivation (got an idea? just do it! do it! do it!),
    3. Intellectual Courage (stop being a snob. be open to trying other things and try doing your usual things in other ways),
    4. Relaxation (daydreaming isn’t all that bad).

    * The name is Fus. Doo Fus. Do you think you’ve got what it takes to be the next James Bond? Make like this guy and send in your application letter.

    * And more irony: The more blogs are becoming journal-like, livejournal in turn are turning out some pretty good finds:

One for the Kristong Itim files: Salamangkiero takes on a house.

Stellar’s got some pretty good reads and some wonderful links.

Movie-trailer happy? With Trailer Spotting, yes I am.

    * Blogiverse. There are some nifty new discoveries in blogland:

By Jove! should give you the behind the news scenes. Hi Jovy!

Paul’s got some brand new digs: unlawyer.net.

Oliver’s a talented writer AND a talented artist: check it out at alternatural thoughts.

Junnie just celebrated his 4th year of blogging. Congrats and more pictures!

    John’s got a Jack-Jack Attack!

    * Premises, premises. Some promising Pinoy movies: La Visa Loca and Pinoy Blonde. Pinoy Blonde has characters discussing the merits of Brocka and Bernal films. Interesting. A Pinoy movie going meta. I hope they pull it off.

    * Quick and Dirty Reviews that is. Longer write-ups coming soon.

Sahara. Enh. Penelope is hot. So is the desert. Both can get boring quickly if you stare at it too long.

Fever Pitch. Funny. Perfect 2nd date movie. Liked the first version better though.

  3. joke time mga palabas dito sa Pinas eh. puro fantaserye, hahaha~ :P

  4. Uy, salalmat sa link and for visiting my humble site. Yours is alaways a good read and I wish I can say the same things for my incoherent ramblings. Ha ha.

  5. omg. popeman! i can’t wait for the merchandise on this one :)

  6. Hey, thanks, Mark! :)

  7. hi mark. thanks! being “linked” sure feels a lot like getting oscar buzz. hehehehe

  8. Thanks for mentioning my new digs!

You were right about WP; it isn’t difficult to use at all.

  9. Checked out the Pinoy Blonde site. What’s up with the red lipstick on the male actors? Was that intended? Otherwise, makeup artists gotta chill.

Speaking of red lipstick, too bad MJ’s embroiled in his trial right now. He’d make the perfect Ghost Rider.

  10. pen

natawa ako sa orlando photos - hahaha! would you believe, i have never been to universal. i’m such a disney geek.

  11. Radyo! I want my Radyo! Mukha mo! (inspired by Sting and Dire Straits)

  12. oh gee. this is the most informative post. ever!!! :) i have to bookmark this.

tonton gutierrez and lani mercado as darna’s parents? i feel ancient.

those disney pictures are priceless. do you have any technique on how to get others’ pics? i feel like i have to ask their permission, and i’d sooner abandon the photo op than walk up to them. sigh.

  13. Angela, kainis dun sa James Bond, seryoso sya.

Junnie! Yup coming up on five and still learning a thing or two. Once I get a handle on the mobileblogging system I’ll start putting up more pics. Idol kasi kita. Oo 11 years old pa din ang mental age ko. hehe :)

Vanya, ganun naman talaga siguro. Fads…di ba nung isang beses panay anime. Dito rin naman panay reality shows. Lahat na lang may pa-contest. Pana-panahon lang talaga. Pero at least one advantage, gumagastos sila sa effects. Sana lang maging pulido ang gawa at kumuha sila ng bagong source material.

Hey John! Thanks for the kind words. Blog lang ng blog. :)

Emer, I can see it now…get your Miter replicas with your scale Popemobile. I think Gibson made a killing with his Passion crucifixes.

Oliver, no problem! Sorry I missed your book launching.

Hey Jove! Mas okay na yung Oscar buzz kaysa The Buzz! :D Not sure if you remember me from the 990 RT days.

Hey Paul! No problem. I’m really enjoying the new WP version. Far better than the last version. Can’t wait what they’ll come up next.

Daniel, hey you’re right! If they just set MJ’s head aflame, he makes a perfect Ghost Rider! And he’s already had experience in having his head on fire.

Pen, wala pa yan…nahiya na ako sa sarili ko at hindi ko na linagay yung mga mas embarrassing photos online. :) Disney was fun pero I don’t see myself going back there. I think once was enough.

Vangie, thank you! Yes I do feel the same. Ms. Locsin was born *after* Ninoy’s assassination probably wasn’t even aware of EDSA I. Ick. Anyhoo, as for the pictures, you just walk up to them. Sometimes there’s an impromptu line which forms when it’s a popular character. They don’t stay long at one spot 30mins to an hour I think and then they go on break. They come back after another hour or so. *shrugs* Ako kinapalan ko na lang mukha ko at nagpose sa mga characters. Di naman nila ako kilala eh at sayang naman yung pinunta namin pag hindi ako nag-trip. :) Just have your pictures taken with them. That’s what they’re there for.
