Mga gimik, isyus, at pagkaka-abalahan sa Pinas:
* Sith-putin N’yo: New Worlds Episode III: The 3rd Philippine Science Fiction and Fantasy Convention. Been to the first two. If you want to see interesting, creative people, do drop by.
* The Revolution Will Eat Its Young: some grumblings in the local blogosphere. Can’t say I can totally blame them for feeling this way. Good netiquette guide though. Ahh the Internet.
* Long belated congratulations! To Jovan and Cha for finally tying the knot. Nakalimutan ko ipaalala sa inyo na magdala ng tripod para sa honeymoon. Then again… :)
* Borrowed Bayo? Apparently, local brand Bayo has been ripping off Japanese artists for their shirt designs.
* Paki-iksplika, Pare. Erap has a new website. I wonder if this means he’ll revive his blog.
* Police Confiscate Black Candles In Quiapo! Why? ‘La lang. Feel nila eh.
* PCIJ’s latest report is on population control. Condoms and the Pill treated like illegal drugs? And we wonder why we can’t seem to get our act together. Oh right…they’re being treated like black candles in Quiapo.
* UPDATE: Marco Cabazal, of Octopus Garden, programmer, musician, photographer and all around nice guy has some of his photos displayed at Gram’s Diner over at Rockwell Power Plant (near the tennis courts/tent and the Starbucks), 7am-12mn on weekdays, and 7am-2am on weekends. He also shot the pics for the menu. Go check it out if you’re in that area.

Hey Daniel! Erap wanted a new website to “air his side”. Sounds like fair game to me. :) I think he’s still enjoying some degree of privilege despite his current status as deposed leader/martyr or whatever image he’s trying to project.

Small world…Marco’s my friend. He invited us to Grams last Friday to look at the pics he shot. Sayang wasn’t able to go. :-)

Isn’t having a website too un-”masa” for Erap? What’s next, Erap internet kiosks on railroads?
By the way, I’ve been around this blog for some time for my dose of Philippine pop. I think it’s time to introduce myself. And as the saying goes in the blogosphere: “Link yah!”

Serendipitously, we always hang out at Grams every Friday night. (Not last Friday though; watched Sith.) Will check out his stuff.

Thanks for the greeting, Mark! Sayang at hindi ka nakadalo. It was one big ABSi reunion in a long time.
As for the honeymoon, naka-tripod naman ‘yan palagi eh! (wink, wink!) Hahahahahahahahahah!

Hi Mark,
Yah, that Bayo thing is really creating quite a stir in the illustrator/designer community back here. One of the Japanese artists has already contacted Bayo. This could actually set a precedent in the Philippines for the rights of illustrators/artists.

Hey Redjuelle! I worked with Marco way back when I was with Sky Internet. Met up with him again when he was Wolfpac. Sayang I wasn’t able to catch him on one his band’s gig. Di rin natuloy yung get-together namin before I left. Let me know if you were able to check out his pics at Grams. :)
Thanks for dropping by Buddy! Comment ka lang! Everyone’s welcome to add to the conversation. :) Erap I think is trying to reach more supporters outside his conventional base not that FPJ is gone and Ms. Susan doesn’t seem to be likely to do a Cory. Si Obi-Wan na lang ang only hope. Este si Jinggoy.
Banzai! That exclamation point just lends itself well to your nick. How was it? Did you see the thin guy with the curly hair hehe.
Junnie thanks! I seek them out because I know there’s more to Manila and the Philippines than what the news sites and most wannabe pundits would like to make out. There are far more interesting things happening culturally than showbiz and politics as usual. :)
Jovan yeah I heard about the ABSi get-together. Ala naman nag post ng pics aside from you guys. At syempre humirit ka pa about the tripod. “And I thought marriage would change you.” hehe Asa pa noh? :D
Vanya, Jesse medyo nakakahiya nga yun. Parang walang bilib yung Bayo sa local talent. What’s worse, in the eyes of the international community, the Pinoys come off in a bad light. Any other developments about this?
