What a weekend enh?
* While PGMA barely escapes yet another threat to her presidency…
* …the G8 has decided to cancel the debt of “18 poor but well-governed countries“. The operative phrase of course is well-governed. Maybe, instead of wrestling for power, our genuises of politicos can buckle up and address the $55.6 B debt.

* It turns out that Panatang Makabayan they made us recite during school assemblies has three versions already. They used to pick three students for the assembly - one to lead the singing of the National Anthem, one to lead the prayer (Catholic school), and lastly the poor guy who had to lead the recitation of Panatang Makabayan who very rarely complete the entire oath without fumbling any lines.

Nung elementary may card kami para kapag magrerecite.
In HS, maraming takot kapag sila ang assigned may recite ng panatang makabayan at panunumpa sa watawat.
And HS kids don’t recite naman, tinataas lang yung kamay, ang sarap pagbabarilin.

Heh. May isang beses yung naka-assign mag-recite ng Panatang Makabayan gumawa ng sariling lyrics. Yung natira na lang ata yung ‘Panatang Makabayan’ sa unahan tapos ’sa isip, sa salita, at sa gawa.’ Lahat ng nasa gitna, improv. Hanep.
