Muzak & Digestion

One of my favorite foodie is writing again:

I am still able to tolerate the elevator music version of Jose Mari Chan’s “Beautiful Girl” dripping off my Peking Duck - but only because I’m eating excellent Peking Duck, and the Chinese (along with Thais and Singaporeans) have an inexplicable love for elevator music.

I’m sorry by JMC always wants me to put an ice pick in my ear. My theory on muzak in restaurants is that establishments intentionally put cheezy music to hasten table turnaround. The more irritating the music, the faster you finish your meal.

I remember one of those 24-hour lugawan places where they had Aegis on rotation. Aegis. Aegis with your lugaw can make any Bomber Moran wannabe weep. What more less bato people hmmm?
