DVD Junkie

I’ve been meaning to mention this but I’ve finally found a webtool to keep track of our DVDs like Librarything. There’s a lot of software which would allow you to track your collection on your computer but not on the web. I found this site called DVDSpot awhile back and I’ve slowly adding titles to my profile. You can view my collection at their site. It’s not exactly the most intuitive of sites (when you’re adding titles you have to use the small search field on the left instead of the one at the center etc.) but it works. It would be neat if they can add rss feeds of your page so you can paste it on to your site or something. Netflix has this particular service available but I’m still thinking where I should place it.

  1. Oh hey, that’s neat. I like how they include the ratings, runtimes, and summaries. I’ve been using DVDAficionado (http://www.dvdaficionado.com/dvds.html?id=teh_eula) for more than a year now, and although it’s not as fancy, it gets the job done. What I like about it is that you can add multiple titles at a time, and they’re automatically categorized by genre (but you can also make your own folders). If only there was an online DVD tracking tool that combined DVDSpot and DVDAf — and let you tag your titles too! *sigh*

  2. Hey Eula! DVDAficionado is cool! Thanks! It has some of the flexibilities I was looking for in DVDSpot. It could use some aesthetic tweaks but they got most of the functions right. I’ll set up an account on it soon! :)
