Fair and Balanced…Just Forget About Facts
In my search for more information about the recent Mt. Mayon rumblings, I stumbled upon these glaring mistake in geography on Google News: “Scientists: Indonesia’s Mayon Volcano Ready to Erupt” Indonesia? Wha? Since when? Has the Philippine government sold off Mayon as well? I mean with their recent batshitinsane scheme about Supermaids, I thought they’ve started selling off other natural resources as well.
Turns out Fox News was the culprit. Following the link, it said on its headline that indeed, Indonesia’s Mayon is ready to erupt despite having “Manila, Philippines” on the lead paragraph on the AP feed. I guess they can’t be bothered with facts you know like the actual location of a friggin’ volcano. Whole different country dudes. (Pau also noticed this so hindi ako na malikmata.)
