A Pinoy Blog About Nothing

As part of the raison d’être of this blog, I get to play around with code and whatnot. That’s part of the reason why I haven’t shot this horse in the head to end its misery and continue beating it. Sometimes though playing around with Wordpress makes me want to pull out my hair.

Now I love me my Wordpress don’t get me wrong. It’s super flexible and there’s a ton of plug-ins and themes and people posting solutions to common problems. I won’t go back to Blogger and MT. I still think Wordpress is the better solution for my needs. But it is exactly this flexibility which drives me nuts. I am by no means no php code jockey nor a web graphics gunslinger. I’ll still happily adopt a plug-in than come up with my own. Mine is the tyranny of content and organization. I want specific information displayed in a specific way.

So mostly when it deals with PHP code and mySQL queries it’s basically hit or miss. I’m getting the feeling that either my Google-fu is weak or what I’m trying to do is so esoteric, no one has attempted it (which I highly doubt). And sometimes, the time intended for blogging gets eaten up by tinkering beneath the hood. No, that’s not my roundabout way of making an excuse of the sparse posting. This is just one of those days that my frustration is getting the better of me. I’ve taken a short break to rant (where else?) but on my blog.

But oh well back ‘neath the hood I go. Hand me that (div) spanner.
