Merry Christmas! Now get off the computer…
I love the sentiment expressed in this commercial by Smart Communications. There are just some things that are uniquely Christmas for Filipinos. But (you knew there was a ‘but’ coming) I don’t agree on two points. Una, bakit may mga puti dyan sa ad? Kung pinapauwi nyo yung mga Pilipino galing sa abroad, bakit may mga turistang ‘Kano? Pangalawa, yung secretary ng tourism - tatakbo yan sa senado no? Pwede ka naman gumawa ng advertisement para sa Pilipinas na hindi pinapakita yung secretary ng tourism di ba?
Sige na nga, Merry Christmas. Di na ako mang-aaway. Pramis.

Coz it’s cold here in the northern hemisphere and for Christmas they should come visit the Philippines where it’s warm… ?

True. But it wasn’t necessary that they be white, right? “Your home in Asia” excludes non-Caucasians?

Yeah, that’s pretty odd. Almost every scene had Caucasians. Is the message, “Come home this Christmas with your foreign friends?” Baka.

hmm.. it didnt feel christmassy to me at all. parang pahabol lang yung caroling and “season’s greetings” sa huli.
