Although there aren't Michael Bay-like ka-blewy in Michael Mann's movie version of Miami Vice, it still delivers the explosive action. Can't recommend it for the big screen though...you won't miss anything (unless you're looking out for Mann's subtleties) if you wait for it on DVD. To be honest with you, I got bored with director Richard Linklater's first full-length animation film A Waking Life. Shifty images and kilometric monologues was too much for one sitting. Still, I liked the approach he made. A Scanner Darkly, Linklater's second fling with animation is tighter - aided by Philip K. Dick's story on drug use. You have to watch the teaser trailer on Quicktime. The Youtube version doesn't do it justice. So who do we see in the trailer? Yup it's definitely the black symbiote costume (dunno if it's the alien version). The trailer has the Sandman and I think I saw a glimpse of Goblin Glider. If you get to see only one movie this year, this should be it. Even if you don't like watching movies, watch this. It is worth your time. Forget that this movie has Al Gore, the Presidential Could've-Been. It's the message that's important. And it's not even a boring documentary at that.
