I just had lunch and I’m craving for something sweet. I’ve been trying to cut down on food since Jovan was brought to the hospital. Well here are some of my “current” favorite desserts. I just have to think about it and not actually buy it

I tried this at a restaurant here in ABS. The restaurant is called Timpla and it specializes in Filipino cuisine. What I really like about them is that they’ve made versions of the ordinary fare that you eat at home. This dessert I really like. It’s called Fried Pichi-pichi with mangoes and vanilla ice cream. Yum! Pichi-pichi are small cassava cakes with coconut. With this dessert they fried the pichi-pichi until it was crunchy outside but still chewy inside then drizzled some mango sauce with mango bits. Plus added vanilla ice cream. It’s really Good!

I discovered the Ube bar when I went to Pearl Farm with my friend Micky. Ever since then, I’ve asked all those who would go to Davao to bring these home. I recently received a whole box when one of the Tantra guys went there for the Kadayawan Festival. The guys found it a little weird. But it’s similar to the pastillas.

If you’re tired of the usual bibingka. This is one treat that you shouldn’t miss. It’s across Friday’s Resto in Tomas Morato extension. They have a lot of choices for the filling – choco cheese, corn cheese, just cheese. My favorite is the corn cheese. Quite heavy on the tummy though. Better if you share this with your friends.

I don’t know what this cake is called. During my recent trip to the doctor, I found this yummy dessert in Saint’s. For P60 pesos, it was worth every bite. It had mocha icing with a crispy chocolate crust. Saints is a small cafe inside St. Luke’s Hospital. They also serve lunch and dinner, I heard their crispy pata is also good.
