Bohol
Our flight to Tagbilaran was late for 3 hours. So by the time we reached Bohol, I was a little bit tired from doing nothing. The moment we reached the airport we first went to the public market and checked out the goods that were sold there. We were not disappointed with the goods that we saw. The next thing was to check the local puto maya. I love the flavor of ginger with salt in the “kaning malagkit” (sticky rice) while sipping hot “sikwate” (hot chocolate).
For lunch we headed to the Bohol Bee Farm, we had Halang Halang (chicken cooked with coconut milk and ginger with vegetables), salad greens with honey mustard dressing, grilled fish, bbq ribs and talong with red rice. All were good, except for the ribs. It could have been more tastier. But I loved the talong cooked in gata with onions and tomatoes I also liked the Halang Halang. We wanted dessert so we got their halo-halo, I found it a little off since it was like fresh fruit salad with evaporated milk and sugar.
After lunch we headed to Baklayon church then visited Osang’s Pastries. This is where you can find good broas. We also found a framed article of Micky Fenix of Inquirer. Ms. Myrna and Raul had to have a picture taken to show Micky. Then we went to the resort where we would stay to prepare for a full day of cooking the next day.
