Since college, I’ve always wanted to do production work for a film or a TV commercial. But there were no openings when I graduated, that was the reason why I was led to the world of New Media. My dream was recently fulfilled when I volunteered to help in a cooking show entitled Chef TV. I started as Production Assistant for the first weeks, until I was asked to do Marketing work until doing all the planning and execution of a culinary competition called The Food Showdown 2007. Now I am already one of the Production Managers for the show. Those were very hectic months but really worth it. What luck to have my dream fulfilled plus get the chance to work with Manila’s top chefs- Chef Myrna and Chef Jill and premier food writer – Micky Fenix. Plus I get to help in the kitchen working with Sir Raul.
We encountered problems with the first production team, so on the 4rth episode we had to stop and go back to the drawing board. After a series of meetings and planning. The second set of Chef TV is now back on air, with a new set of production crew and a tighter concept.
Working in production is hard work, but harder to produce a cooking show. Hopefully we air another season next year. I’m glad to be part of it and have one of my dreams fulfilled. Incidentally for the 2nd episode another dream was fulfilled, it was to have my voice recorded as a VO (voice over). Taas nga lang ng boses ko hehe. So once lang talaga in my life ko gagawin yun.
